nannie replied to Sean Steckbeck's discussion 'Simple Church and Universal Salvation... is this a growing epidemic?'
Sean, Your post is a great encouragement to me, it's a voice of reason and truth. Thank you for courageously posting and offering your experiences. The teachings of Universalism are running rampant and not always detected due to confusing…

nannie replied to Tammie's discussion 'discernment in the face of indoctrination'
Hi Tammie. I believe 'test the spirits' applies to both the Holy Spirit and demonic spirits,, we are instructed to test when, or if, it seems appropriate. When I 'feel' anxious for a day or so with no known reason I will ask the…

nannie replied to Bonnie's discussion 'What Does it Look Like?'
Our kids stopped by while I was typing my last comment so I had to stop. Yes I do have prep... I make coffee and set out ice water and tea bags. For our gathering (and that's what we call our time together the "Gathering") children…

bonnie, some nights there are only 3 or 4 of us. the most we've had is 8.. If you have a couple of Christians who will meet with you at first then you could present your idea and desire to be together. We have NO preparation!

Hello Bonnie, I am curious to see the answers to your questions. But I'll give you a synopsis of our gathering of believers,, it's very simple; a few people sitting in our living room chatting and trusting God to lead us. We all know and…

Hi nannie! I was excited to hear from you. I found a simple church 10 miles from us, but it seemed like a IC. One guy seemed to be the leader and teacher (pastor) and it just wasn't what we were looking for. We are meeting with a couple who are new Christians but so far it is more like a Bible study and we are having a hard time getting them to grasp the concept of worship. We have been visiting some IC's because we have been starving for worship and fellowship. I hope we can get together with your group sometime soon. Thanks Gene

Ah, you know South Haven! :) Are you close to us? Did you get the storms rolling through tonight? My satellite computer connection has been going in and out.
This weekend is the Blueberry Festival in South Haven so we've been enjoying the festivities.
The pics on my page are my husband and kids

We left denominational membership about 10 yrs ago but have never found people of a homechurch bent.

We often have a Friday evening family worship sort of Sabbath Seder though we're not religious about it.

This spring after a discussion with our teens of who is the church and people and their traditions we began a kind of a social study and have been visiting different churches in South Haven. It has been interesting... sometimes enjoyable, sometimes depressing.

And you? Do you have a family? A homechurch gathering?
