Frank replied to Miguel's discussion Obey your “Pastors,” and submit to their authority… Wait a minute? Where’s that in the Bible?
"Thanks Mike. I hosted a group like that for some time in one of our warehouses. We did it once a month on Friday evenings. We got about 30 to 60 people turn up. My biggest problem was getting them to grasp 1Cor14v26. They knew it in their heads, but…"

"We meet at a building that we rent (I can go into those reasons another time if you are interested).  People start showing up around 9:45 and some come as late as 11:00.  We usually have coffee made and water for tea and someone usually…"

Micheal Ellis Childress replied to Miguel's discussion Obey your “Pastors,” and submit to their authority… Wait a minute? Where’s that in the Bible?
"Great discussion and great points.  As a pastor (I have  been derided on this site for that term before) I see the need for leadership for a couple of reasons.  First, I believe that leaders should be just that; leaders and not…"

Miguel's Blog

Nine Self-examining questions before posting in a blog or forum.

When Making Blog or Forum Posts, these questions from Steve Camp give one a hopeful pause before putting thoughts to words.

1. How does my post glorify God and exalt Christ? Or am I seeking to only expand my daily readership by addressing controversial issues just for controversy's sake? (1 Cor. 10:31)

2. How does it equip the body of Christ biblically to be better Bereans on any issue they face? (Acts 17:11)

3. How does it convict and challenge me in my own… Continue

House to House Ministry in the Ecuadorian Cloud Forest

Being on full-time Missions in the heart of the Ecuadorian Cloud Forest has helped us redefine what is important. This past Christmas, over 30 families received a basket of much needed items. Many here hope the holidays pass quickly because they are reminded of what they don't have. Delivering these baskets and ministering to poor families needs has been a blessing for us. Pray that those who have been touched would continue to seek God in 2009 and that we would have the opportunity to follow… Continue

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOH ! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH ! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH!

Do you know what God is doing now? Aren’t you going to be a part of it? Of course it’s a little difficult to understand. You have to be REALLY spiritual. Thousands of people are going in that direction. When God moves, you have to find out where He is going and hopefully get caught up in the wave. If you don’t, you are going to miss out on something really special. Look, there are always going to be those who are left behind… Continue

Stupid Church

The following excerpt is taken from a book by Glen Wagner entitled,The Church You’ve Always Wanted (Grand Rapids: Zondervan, 2002), p. 29-31.

While I am sure Simple Church Folks will revel in the next few statements, I wonder how many hit home?

· The Church of Networking—Make contacts to expand your business.

· The Church of the Significant Other—Find that special someone. Hey, it’s better than a singles bar.

· The Church of… Continue

The most Dangerous Sadducee

"I consider the most dangerous champion of the Sadducee school is not the man who tells you openly that he wants you to lay aside any part of the truth, and to become a free-thinker and a skeptic. It is the man who begins with quietly insinuating doubts as to the position that we ought to take up about religion, doubts whether we ought to be so positive in saying "this is truth, and that falsehood," doubts whether we ought to think men wrong who differ from us on religious opinions, since they… Continue

Hi Michael,
Thank you for jumping in on my discussion about detoxing from the institution. I wanted to reply right away but I was busy with Thanksgiving cooking, etc. Thanks for your candid opinions. I want to reply outside of the discussion and probably should email you directly which is exactly what I am going to do... See you later.

Thank you for your kind comment, Miguel. This latest one about Fulfilled Eschatology following upon Universal Reconciliation is sort of making me crazy, taking up maybe too much of my thought and time, but I still feel sort of constrained.

God bless you!

Miguel, I loved your quote for today on your blog. Some quotes are encouraging, some enlightening. This one gives an "aha!" moment! Carolyn
