Spiritual Foot Washing

Spiritual Foot Washing

Jesus washed the disciples’ feet. The lesson most of us Christians have learned from this through reading the account in John, from a Sunday school lesson, a sermon or some other form of teaching is that we are called to be servants to one another. “The greatest among you will be your servant.” (Matt. 23:11) While that lesson is certainly true, I think there is something deeper here as well. Just as there are layers of rock in the earth, so, too, are there… Continue

Blog #2 Maturing in The Anointing

In Blog Number 1, which I did about an hour ago, I left off on or around 1972. This blog will proceed, but along different lines, which I hope I can explain.

I trust it is our united purpose on Simple Church to glorify Jesus Christ, and while I freely admit there are many, many ways on a daily basis by which he is glorified, one common thread is to put others ahead of ourselves, or perhaps in a more realistic mode of describing it, at least taking a real interest in others and making… Continue

The Spirit of God....the Annointing of God

Who is the Holy Spirit of God and What is His Mission?

Jhn 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

Jhn 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

Jhn 16:9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;

Jhn 16:10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no…

Jesus, the Completer of Law, Prophets, and All By Robert Ricciardelli www.vision2advance.com

Matthew 5:17-19 17 Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose. 18 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved. 19 So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s laws and… Continue

Growing in and Maturing in The Anointing

This has been a long journey, parts of it painful, but more and more filled with peace, and quite a bit of excitement.

I was born, you might say, into the institutional church. My parents were Presbyterian, my mother played the 3 manual pipe organ on Sunday mornings, so church was a three-times-a-week deal, and the King James Bible was thought worthy of memorization. I did my share.

I was born again when I was 18, an event that occurred in the beauty of the New York… Continue

"CREATIVE CHURCH" (Topeka KS)

With the help of "Andy & Barney" we have started a new church, a new creative church. Creative in that we have as our focus group law enforcement & fire personnel. We do church differently, we meet Tuesday evenings instead of Sunday morning, we always begin with dinner followed by an "Andy Griffith video" which serves as the sermon starter. Our music is a combination of the up to date modern worship and praise and some of the old hymns. I them… Continue

Community Making

Hello SimpleChurch.com community! Not been hanging out here quite so much of late, but just posted a new entry to my blog reviewing the 1987 book The Different Drum by M. Scott Peck, which I only recently read. The review is pretty detailed and has a lot of food for thought about the psychology of building community. I think Peck presents a very interesting framework for… Continue

Stripping Down to Christ Alone

The Lord has been speaking these words to me...."strip down to Christ alone." His meaning to me is to get rid of the activities, the empty chatter, and busyness of this world.

There is another kingdom out there with taskmasters that thrive on keeping men and women busy....very busy. This busyness occupies their thoughts, their daily work, their daily bread. I am reminded how when Moses went to Pharaoh to ask for permission for the children of Israel to go into the wilderness to hold… Continue

Life's Lessons

I just wanted to share a quick 'spiritual' thought. The other day I was shooting a game of pool with a person. We were talking about how 'off' this particular pool table was. You could see the ball (you were shooting) , fall way short of the pocket. Several times, he would make a shot and miss and say, "Man, this tables is off." And I would do the same too. I told the student that he had better NOT play to much on these tables or it would totally mess his game up. He asked me what I meant by… Continue

Linda's Journal - February 25, 2009

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

The Lord is so great in how He blesses us in such cool and unexpected ways! I met with one of the new women last week in her clothing store (during a slow period of time) and she felt led to bless me with a new pair of pants (some very cool cords)!! Once again I was so surprised and not expecting anything like this but I felt so special that the Lord would think of me and bless me in this way. Two of my four pair of jeans have holes in the knees… Continue

Just Content to Be a Daughter

Just content to be a daughter,

With no ambition to succeed

In realms of earth, and have no need

Of popularity's acclaim,

Or purchase for myself a name

In serving Christ; for He must be

The Lord throughout eternity.

To see His face and hear His voice,

And do His bidding is my choice.

Just content to be a daughter,

A daughter of God without a home,

To stay, or go, to wait,or roam...

Hither and you without a plan,

Led of the… Continue

Can preaching the Word of God harden a man's heart?

Can preaching the Word of God harden a man's heart?

I was thinking about something yesterday and I'd like to hear from others about this. There were times when I was so excited about the Gospel and constantly preached it to everyone I met. Family members, neighbors, friends, strangers, etc. I was thinking about one particular family member that was raised in a church and that believed certain rituals were necessary for salvation. Christ was hardly preached.

As I… Continue

The Message of the Cross...........the Power of God

The Message of the Cross...........the Power of GodI Cr 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

The " Message of the Cross." I used to think I knew what the message of the Cross was. The Cross is more than just a symbol of our faith...it is the very heartbeat of our spiritual life. The revelation of the "Message of the Cross" is the foundation of which all other… Continue

Let Your Light Shine

There was a certain verse in the Bible which says: "He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord and He will reward him according to what he has done".

I had been serving the Lord for quite sometime and little by little I had been able to comprehend this verse through my simple experience in my journey as a simple Christian. You see, one of my most need in life is to have a single motorcycle for my personal use in the ministry and while reporting for work as a government employee, 35… Continue

Who Is Your Ananias??

Acts 9:18 is an incredible verse of scripture! Saul/Paul had just met Jesus/Yahsuah on the road to Damascus. He saw a light brighter than the noon-day sun. He heard the voice of God telling him what he was called to do. This must have challenged Paul's religious mind, because Paul thought he was already serving GOD. After this life-changing experience with God, Paul goes to the city to met 'his Ananias.' We as followers of Christ MUST have our Ananias. Ananias lays his hands on Paul and… Continue

NATIONALISM - OUR FATHER'S NATION

When trying to assess problems of this world, we tend to look upon some nations as bad and others as good. However, Scripture clearly states that the “prince of this world” (Satan) is behind them all. [Jn. 14:30, 1Jn. 5:19]

While showing Him “all the kingdoms of the world,” Satan said to Jesus, ‘I will give You all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want.” [Luke 4:6-7] Jesus didn’t argue; He knew that… Continue

re: moved back to Willis, TX near Conroe

After the L-rd sent us to attend a Simple Messianic Church in Cork, Ireland and spending a few days around Ireland and London- the L-rd immediately sent us back to our property in Willis, TX. Well after going to Europe, I can truthfully say that this was like returning to the Wilderness. We loved living in Shreveport, LA and really did not like coming back to the North Houston area- but we knew G-d had a plan, so we are trying to be obedient. We praise His name anyway for all the blessings He… Continue

Bruce Lee Preacher...

While at work on night, on the background of a cumputer was a quote by Bruce Lee. The quote said, "Knowing isn't enough, we must apply...Willing isn't enough, we must do!" This quote from the master Karate-man spoke volumes to me. Like a PUNCH from the Holy Spirit! In Matt. 7 there is recorded one of the most important parables Jesus ever gave us. Two men...Two houses...Two storms...Two outcomes. The first man built his house (his life) on the sand. Sand is something that can and will wash… Continue

Holy Nation

Lots of talk going on about the Spiritual condition of our country. I truly thank God for our nation. I do think we should pray and vote according to the teachings of the Bible. As much as I love this country, I don't this is the Holy Nation that God wants to raise up. Some folk believe that it's America's job to change the world. It's not America's job nor any nation's job. The Holy Nation spoken of in the scripture is the 'church.' God's desire is a holy, functioning nation of believers… Continue
