The parallel of slavery

In 1833, slavery was abolished in the British Empire. The person responsible for this immense change in society was William Wilberforce, who fought at times almost singlehandedly over many years to accomplish this feat. He was a committed Christian. Many of…

Times of Prayer

Times of Prayer 56

Every day I encounter people who profess to be Christians yet cannot escape the corruption of this world. The major reason is that many do not know and understand the Word of God. Going to fellowship only for a feel good experience or performing a religious ritual cannot change anything. A life of godliness, glory and excellence can be obtained through the knowledge of His word.

2 Peter 1:2-4 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of… Continue

A new beginning!

Hi everyone, last night my husband and I met Tony Dale at a house church planting conference in India. We have been house church planting for 2 years now, and have had a little bit of a tough time. Last night we shared with Tony our main struggles and we identified some real errors we have had! First of all we still have had a gathering mindset. We have tried to gather and start groups ourselves, when the Luke 10 principle really says we should keep the laborers in the harvest. I also have… Continue

Some thoughts on 1 Timothy 2

I have had others ask that I go into more detail on some of the challenging passages, so here are some thoughts on 1 Timothy 2. (If you are not interested in the details of this subject, I suggest you skip this post!) I am no Greek scholar, but I have had an interest in the topic of women in ministry for many years. The book I wish I had written on this subject is…

Why You Don't Want to Pre-Order My Next Book, "Jesus Manifesto" (June 1st Release)

I've been receiving a fair amount of emails about my next book release.

Some of you have already heard, but for those who haven't, on Tuesday June 1st, my next book releases. It's called Jesus Manifesto: Restoring the Supremacy and Sovereignty of Jesus Christ.

Leonard Sweet is my co-author for this volume.

Usually when people hear about a new book that they are interested in, they pre-order it from Amazon or some other online…

In Memory of Nilson Fanini (1932-2009)

Recently learned of the passing of Nilson Fanini, an outstanding Brazilian Baptist Pastor in the Rio de Janeiro area. He was called the "Billy Graham of Brazil", partly because he served as the interpreter when Billy came to Brazil for a evangelistic campaign and partly because in his own right, he was an outstanding evangelist himself.

He not only greatly impacted the churches in Brazil but also around the world serving as President of the Baptist World Alliance. He died while… Continue

Another look at the challenging Scriptures on women

One of the main reasons that women are so restricted within the church is that certain Scriptures apparently forbid their taking…

Times of Prayer

Times of Prayer 55

Greetings loved ones. Most people in South Africa took advantage of the extended week-end. Durban being a coastal city had many visitors who enjoyed the beaches and of course the warmer weather. Believers also enjoyed a bit more time in fellowship as many attended services on Good Friday and on Sunday.

Durban is made up of people of different faiths. We have Hindus and Moslems amongst others. All of them like Christians believe in God. But what makes a true… Continue

How Did You First Hear about the Kingdom?

When John showed up in the wilderness of Judea announcing the coming of the Messiah, the greatest invasion this planet has ever seen was about to be unleashed. His words were incredible:

“Repent, for the kingdom of the heavens is at hand.

To get a feel for what this might have meant, imagine how the French would have reacted in June of 1944 when they heard the news, “The American led invasion is underway.” This would have been no idle piece of news to them or a subject for… Continue

Times of Prayer

Times of Prayer 54

Praise God as we share in this time of praying that which is in the Father’s heart. So often we can pray religiously but it may not be of the Holy Spirit. There is more and more demand on believers relying and being led of the Holy Spirit. Sensitive believers need to hear the wisdom of God and not the wisdom of this world. Hearing the wisdom of God can only come with intimacy and quality time with the Father.

There are many voices that we are exposed to but children… Continue

Food For Thought!

While at work this week as I looked for some good quotes on Volunteer Appreciation I stumbled across a couple I felt were good enough to share here.....

The first question which the priest and the levite asked was: "If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me" But..the good Samaritan reversed the question: If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?~ Martin Luther King… Continue

Who we are...John, Becky, Rachelle, Alexis, John and Emma!

Hi everyone we are the Fuller Family.

We have been out of the IC (officially) for a three years. We began opening our home, as the Lord has led, since that time to gather, based on Acts 2:42. We currently meet on the 2nd and 4th Friday's under the Lord's direction. It is participartory, Christ centered and Spirit led. This whole experience been an incredible journey as the Lord has allowed us to see the idols in our lives (as we were in leadership and ministry within the IC) and then lay… Continue

Volcanic Ash, Squash Courts and Spiritual Warfare

As I work here at my mother-in-law's home on the S. Coast of England, wondering when I will "escape" these fair isles because of the ban on flying due to the volanic ash, I find myself reflecting on many things. I was supposed to be in Washington DC today, helping promote our company at a business trade show. But "acts of God"/acts of nature have a way of reminding us that we are very small and frail and that our times and daily activities really are in His hands.

So having…
