Just by hearing someone saying ” it’s like oil and water” has that connotation that it is not good. After all, look at the Gulf of Mexico!!!
But let me tell you about another Oil and Water example. It is our christian Life?!
What are you talking about you say?! Well let me explain, or try too.
Let’s try and explain it like this, If I lived in Houston,Tx and you lived in New York City and you wanted to go from the Airport to my…

“Good people and the obstacles to an authentic faith examined in challenging new book”
Do good people make good Christians? The answer may surprise you. In “The Glass Cage and the Rock,” North Carolina author Dana Cashwell takes a liberating but reverent approach at examining strongholds that keep our faith from being genuine. Emphasizing that we can’t change our lives without Christ,…

Been considering the concept of Jesus meeting with the believers. Jesus said that where two or three were assembled together in His name He would be there. Many have talked about how many believers it takes to be considered church. And I have seen discussions about meeting in Jesus' name and what that meant. But what about the meaning of Jesus being in the midst of the assembly?
He did not say that He would be within them but among them.
When Paul said that if an…

Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven...(Matt. 6:10)
I have just returned from a conference in Cincy with Milt Rodriguez, and as I was there, I picked up his book.."The Butterfly in You"...I would like to add a paragraph or so from it...Im sure he won't mind, for I highly reccommend purchasing it!

This is another take on the the hand and glove example blog.
Does it seem like the glove has come to life?
You might have to read my blog on the glove, to understand this but let's give it a chance.
If we as Christians are to be dead to ourselves, and alive to Christ, then why are we trying to be alive when we are a shell for the hand, that is inside us? The glove moves only when the hand inside him moves. The glove only makes signals or motions when the hand signals or…

Recently a young lady cried out to me, “Some days are just too much!” Most of us can identify with her proclamation! Have you ever wondered, “What’s the purpose behind all of this? Why doesn’t God intervene and turn down the heat?”…

A couple of the core competencies that I mentioned in the last post have provoked some comment. So this post will look at the first of these: telling stories.

I have been asked for suggested books/articles about the topic above, and possibly at leadership level. Any ideas please?

Being involved with John White and the LK10 project has had me thinking alot this week about church planting. When I was a traditional church planter the thought was start with a crowd and then work with the crowd to make it a congregation and then work with the congregation to produce leaders. What tended to happen was we focused on building the crowd, gave lip service to building a congregation and then begged for leaders.
I have really been chewing on the idea of Churches…

So I have been pondering a lot lately about our old church and how it operated. You see, I drive past it atleast once or twice a week and after attending there for 10 years, many memories come and go. Well one thing that stuck out to me this week was how I remember trying to have a VBS at a local park and after much deliberating about how liable we would be for this and that, the idea was politely dismissed. I think back on the way things were done and I see a repeated practice of trying to…

My meditation for the day,
“Don’t come talk to me of God, come to my door with religious pamphlets, or ask me whether I’m saved. Hell holds no threat more agonizing than the harsh reality of my own life. I swear to you that the fires of hell seem more inviting than the bone-deep cold of my own life. And don’t talk to me of…

It’s Wedding Month! In the U.S. alone, 2.3 million couples “tie the knot” every year. Only one out of five adults never marries. From the time of Adam and Eve, the marital relationship between a man and a woman has been ordained by God. However, some things have…
