The Anointing: Association

1Samuel 10:5, 6 After that thou shalt come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines: and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they shall prophesy: and the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.

More on Tozer

I've posted a series of articles written and published by A.W. Tozer. Sadly, we do not have audio of Bro. Tozer for these messages. Never the less, I have made recordings of these articles for whosoeverwill using my voice for the glory of God. I do so with the utmost of respect for the message, and the man. I trust someone, somewhere, will be blessed and encouraged to live sanctified and holy before God, without spot or blemish. To God be the glory, now and forever… Continue

What is the Truth

I sometimes feel so overwhelmed, trying to sort out the true eternal gems from everybody's 'personal truth' as I go about my life here in Spokane. We all seem so certain that what we have is 'the Truth' no matter how it differs from 'the Truth' of the next person.

So...I went to the Gold Standard of all comparison of truth, those Ancient Books of All Wisdom (The Original Written Word of God). That document has been around so long, and survived so many intelligent challenges, that it… Continue

Times of Prayer

TIMES OF PRAYER

Welcome and greetings of good will to you, your church and family. I am reminded of the song” What a friend we have in Jesus” when it says” what peace we often forfeit, what needless pains we bare when we do not take anything to the Lord in prayer.” To forfeit is to give up the rights of ownership.

We give up so many of our privileges when we do not take anything to the Lord in prayer. What makes the prayer of a Christian so powerful is that Jesus is the… Continue

Progressive Faith Vs. the Illulsion of Control

[Taken from an article, "Progressive Faith vs. the Illusion of Control" by Fred Plumer - http://www.religion-online.org/showarticle.asp?title=1648]

"The point is that it is always easier not to question or doubt. It is usually easier to ignore the truth if it requires that we change. It will often be easier to stay in the same place.

Progressive faith is like learning to ski down a…

Antioch Gathering 2009

There is a growing number of reports of what took place in the October 2009 "Gathering in Antioch."

What follows is a list of those I have run across. If you are aware of others, please include these in the comments so that I might add them to the list.…

False Prophet?

Last night I posted what I felt was a word from the Lord. I am in fact what many people believe to be what would be called a Prophet. In the word I post on the blog I said that mad cow was in fact a virus not a disease So I guess some well meaning brother sent me a comment preceded by the verse Deuteronomy 22:18 he also included a quote from a so called expert stating that mad cow was in fact a disease and not a virus. Testing a Prophetic words is biblical however if we only use on scripture… Continue

EGYPT...

Egypt, in scripture, is often a place that represents ‘BONDAGE’. The people of God were slaved there for some 400 years. As the story goes, God raised up MOSES and brought His people out. God Himself refers to Egypt as ‘the house of bondage (Ex.13:3). In other words God was going to remove them OUT of one culture and INTO another…God’s. God’s culture is all together different than Egypt’s. The people of God had gotton so used to the Egypt Culture that they knew NO OTHER way of living. God was… Continue

Times of Prayer

Welcome family and God bless as you remain faithful to the things of the Kingdom. We have been speaking much about prayer and I want to encourage you that your prayer life grows out of the knowledge of God’s word. When we pray His word we pray His will and pleasure. As much as we develop a love for prayer we need to first love His word.

Joshua is encouraged to meditate on the word of God.

Ps 119:11

Your word I have hidden in my heart,

That I might not sin against… Continue

Times of Prayer

Times of Prayer

God bless you loved ones and welcome once more to this precious time of praying together. As much I enjoy praying scripture I also enjoy praying in the Spirit. I was asked once why do I wake up praying in the Holy Ghost? Being stumped for an answer I of course asked the Holy Spirit to help me. The answer I gave was that when I go to bed it is only my body that sleeps but my spirit is awake so when I get up my spirit is already awake so I just edify myself and allow my… Continue

THANKSGIVING

Thanksgiving: an expression of gratitude; a token of appreciation of God’s blessings.

I readily admit that I don’t always have the most thankful heart. I’m often more focused on what could and should be, rather than on giving God thanks and praise for what is and seeing His blessings in it. Where do I turn when I need a heart adjustment? Singing His praises. As I lift my spirit to Jesus in song, His Holy Spirit floods my heart with thankfulness for His precious gift of… Continue

Right Vs. Wrong...?

(Received in my emails today...)

On this day of your life, I believe God wants you to know...

....that being "right" has nothing to do with it.

The idea that you call "right" is the idea that someone

else calls "wrong." The solution that you call "perfect"

is the solution that another calls "unworkable." The

position that you feel is unassailable is the very

position that others… Continue

Starting up a simple church

After a year or so dabbling in a simple church at another couple's house, and having some ups and downs, we have established one in our own house in Valparaiso, IN. Kathy (my wife) and I were greatly blessed by "The Rabbit and the Elephant", especially by the variety of simple church expressions described there. For several months after our first experiment, we read the book together, praying and seeking the Lord about what to do. A few people from our first group, and some new young people who… Continue

The Anointing: Passed On

1Kings 19:16-19 And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room. And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay. Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him. So he departed thence, and found… Continue

TIMES OF PRAYER

Times of prayer 6

God bless and thank your for being part of the team. We thank God for this opportunity that we have to pray together. We salute all the soldiers of the cross and bless God for using men and women all over world to spread the Good news of the Kingdom. I really admire all those missionaries and their families who give up everything, and take up residence in some remote part of the world just to see people saved. So many of them have even lost their lives over the… Continue

Starting it up new. Again.

Back in the 90's, (years ago), well even before then; I was part of a church plant / house church / whatever your label happens to be for a group of people meeting together. My dad started a fellowship in our garage. It slowly grew, merged with a couple of other bodies, and today is a active, vibrant group that is impacting its community. In the early 90's, I left my small hometown and ventured to the metro-plex known as Dallas, TX in order to attend CFNI (Christ for the Nations Bible… Continue

Our Journey Continues.............

It's been three weeks have passed since my wife and I have left the IC. I have been working long hours and have not had to chance to do any blogging. To say this is all challenging is an understatement. But I will say my eyes are being open everyday. We are getting the usual flak from some in Karen's family about "leaving church" but I must say they are staying clear of me for now :-) . This was expected. What wasn't expected is the fact that we haven't heard hide nor hair of anyone from our… Continue

THE TEMPTATIONS OF A SANCTIFIED MAN - S.L. BRENGLE

THE TEMPTATIONS OF A SANCTIFIED MAN

How can a man that is "dead to sin" be "tempted?" asked an earnest but unsanctified Christian of me some time ago. "If the very tendencies and inclinations to sin be destroyed, what is there in the man to respond to a solicitation to evil?

This is a question which every man will ask sooner or later, and when God showed me the answer, it threw great light on my pathway and helped me to defeat Satan in many a pitched battle.

The… Continue
