BREAKTHROUGH
Amos 9:11-12 “In that day I will restore David’s fallen tent,
I will repair its broken places,
restore its ruins,
and build it as it used to be
So that they may possess the remnant of Edom
and all the nations that bear my name,”
declares the Lord who will do these things.
1 Chronicles 14: 8:12 When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, they went up in full…

The next step in the grieving process represents, what is for most, the low point. Perhaps Depression is best revealed in the question: “Is this all there is?” Manna was a miracle as the Israelites trekked through the desert, but the same thing every day gets old.
Real old.
It is like the vacation from hell: driving across the country with the kids and dog in the station wagon day after day after day. Being constantly on the move away from Egypt toward the Promised Land is…

Hello Everyone;
[Matthew 14: 25]
And in the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. 26 But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, saying, "It is a ghost!" And they cried out for fear. 27 But immediately he spoke to them, saying, "Take heart, it is I; have no fear." 28 And Peter answered him, "Lord, if it is you, bid me come to you on the water." 29 He said, "Come." So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to…

I first read about “Churchless Christianity” in one my textbooks for my church planting class last semester. Basically, this term refers to a contemporary religious phenomenon in India. This group is made up of Indian “followers of Jesus” who for various reasons have decided to forgo organized Christianity and remain within the religious and cultural confines of traditional Hinduism. Obviously this has sparked a lot of debate about whether or not these people are actually believers or not, and…

How can I incorporate waiting for wisdom into my day?
Ignorance does not result from what we don’t know! According to the great spiritual teachers, ignorance results from what we think we do know.
Wisdom is not just knowledge (i.e. data, facts, information) but putting it in the largest frame possible. It’s connecting it with everything.
Most people’s first reaction is usually based on knowledge, data, facts—but not necessarily on wisdom.… Continue

If we agree in love, there is no disagreement that can
do us any injury, but if we do not, no other agreement
can do us any good.
Hosea Ballou
It's either real, or it ain't, folks. We can't fake love ... we can only admit when we don't have it for another, and ask the One who is Love incarnate, to flow through us ... we have to want to cooperate with Him, but once we see that there is no separation between us and God, and no separation between us and…

"Where's the Body?" (1 Cor 12:19)
The kingdom of God is just God. He's the Realm and its Ruler. Jesus, the only mediator, died to bring us into direct and unmediated relationship with God. Now men are inserted between us and God and they expect us to pay them for it! The true servants of God connect the people to their head: Christ; and, they secure and enlarge that connection. Rather than led by them, they bring forth a group led by the gifts, intentionally moving without…

Well, yesterday was moving day! We moved into Karen’s place and have settled in. She has a very nice home and Tom is enjoying the internet connection for his computer and I am enjoying having my computer back :) It was great being able to stay with Mark and Linda and we are so grateful and blessed by their kindness, hospitality and generosity! I pray that we were as much of a blessing to them as they were to us. I was talking with Sirena and Mary Jane…

Don't Forget Jesus
This holiday season, please do not forget Jesus. He is not like Santa and he is not like Rudolph! He is not a figment of one's imagination and he is not a swear word. He is the son of the most High God. He is the name that gives clarity to the God you serve. There are so many that say they have God or claim to have accepted God, but without Jesus, we have no reference to which god it is that they are talking about. Keep Jesus in everything you do, whether you are…

Ok, I have to confess -- I'm not a fan of Augustine. He was against sexual pleasure in marriage, and sure didn't like UR (though he called us "tenderhearts").
STILL - I have to love this poem he wrote, and which I must share here:
Late have I loved you, O Beauty, so ancient and so new, late have I loved you!
And behold, you were within me and I was outside, and there I sought for you, and in my deformity I rushed headlong into the well-formed things that you have… Continue

I just adore this message!
Christians are told at Baptism we are sons and daughters of God. It takes the rest of our lives to believe our Baptism. We don’t have to earn our place; we already have it. Let us agree to that: We are of the divine nature, we are children of God.
Where else did we come from? What was once inside of God, is now outside of God and that is us. Christianity doesn’t make that happen. Christianity simply announces it, and we are the lucky ones who… Continue

Good morning! I hope you had a wonderful weekend.
Luke 2:8-11 (NASB)
8 And in the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields, and keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened.
10 And the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be for all the… Continue

I wanted to comment on Public Prayer. The church was praying and praying fervently in Acts 12:12. Peter was in jail and they feared for the church members probably. But as they prayed in walked Peter. What is public prayer someone asked me? I think it must be praise, thanking (Baruk means bless but includes thanking in Hebrew).
From what I've read it was Yokum Ben Sokov in Yarne on the Mediterranean who after the temple fell sort of invented the idea of having public prayers instead…

REFORMATION OR REVOLUTION
Famed writer Thomas L. Friedman disagrees with the assertion by some that we are in a green revolution. Some oil and car companies who traditionally have resisted change are now beginning to promote themselves as reformed green companies. The reality is that this new reformation has changed very little the nature of their business or how they operate. You can put…

Daniel 4 is Nebuchadnezzar’s personal testimony on how he came to know the God of heaven. Recently I was led to look at this chapter of God’s word from a different perspective. Daniel, who was called Belteshazzar and who was considered by King Nebuchadnezzar to be “chief of the…

A couple of years ago I heard a teaching by Robert J. Strand at
Hope Community Church and later read his book called “The B Word: The Purpose and Power of the Blessing.” Both were enlightening and quite insipritation to this still fairly recently born-again Christian.
Today I stumbled across this other well written article on the same subject. God certainly had done a lot of blessing Himself beginning in Genesis 1:28 and it seems like he…
