I have heard this language for 34 years now. 'The church is to equip the body of Christ for

service'.

 My question is , service for what? I spent 26 years at a company witnessing and praying. The

other 5 christians in the plant did nothing but melt into the crowd...unnoticed....for 26 years.

  At Western Electric, years ago, I was forced to take a stand against a mob of mockers. I was

cornered. Where did the other 2 brothers go…

   The gospel account clearly shows the contrast or more like a war between Jesus and the religious leaders of His day, the powers that be, the recognized authority of Jerusalem.There are several reasons for this condition of the hearts of those in upper crust positions.

      Their arrogance and personal pursuits were threatened by Jesus' example of humility and disinterested motives. He had laid down all and any mentality of esteem seeking and personal applause which was an opposite…

 

  Edward Everett gave a 2 hour speech after the battle of Gettysburg. Lincoln gave a speech that lasted a few minutes.

  I am no Lincoln of course but I do use just a few words to make any point.

Elders are manefest by their character and their maturity in the things of God. They do not flaunt them nor do thy wave a banner 'Look at ME!!' They are obcure servants that set an example.
