I am always amazed at how we as a culture hate change. Perhaps that is to bold of a statement, but nevertheless I think there is truth in it. My family is full of what I like to call change junkies. Others call them pioneers. Yet we all have been experiencing this shift for the last 10 years or so (some of us longer). There is a feeling for some of us of well ..... what now???? Having lived in the institutional setting for so long has left its marks on me. I even went so far as to go the college to be a pastor and actual became an assistant pastor is up state New York for while. When I got" born again" I felt the "call" on my life. I have been given prophesies concerning it and the Lord also gave me scripture. It was easy to figure out what to do when I was in the old model. Now that I am out side of that model I am stuck with the question, what does a "call" really mean? A lot of it is really just a question of purpose. We are all put on the earth with a purpose, something to give to the world. The method of our delivery has always been traditional in some fashion. Now it is all about relationship and just being the church. I love that concept and we have learned to live in this way. The difference is that some people that have a gift or a message like, leadership or deliverance, have developed their message to give to the world while in the old model and been forced to adapt it to the organic setting after escaping church. Where the younger generation is sitting there participating in the vision or with the message of the older generation but they seem to have nothing of their own. Don't get me wrong they have gifts and participate and serve the Lord, but it is usually somebody else’s vision. I am the happiest and spiritually the healthiest I have ever been living in an organic church. I would not change it for anything, but there is a hunger in me that I can't explain. Not to go back and preach or become institutional and paint it a different color and call it something else, but a hunger for more. I can't explain it any better than that.
