Be A Witness!!!!
I don’t know about you but I feel like someone removed a few weeks form the year and a few hours from the day without us noticing! The time dynamic is very alarming. I’m not sure if it’s that way because we are getting older or if time is really moving that fast.
This puts us, the church, in a very daunting position because it means that we are not doing enough to help save the world. It is true that we don’t save anyone and it is God who does the saving but you and I are very much a part of the rescue operation and the team. God uses our mouths and bodies to get the work done.
Acts 1:8 talks about being endued with power… well that power is for the purpose of being a witness. I am not saying that we should now go and preach in the bus and on street corners but I am saying live in such a way that someone will notice your life style and will want to know what you have that is so different from what they have.
And that will be your cue to tell them about the love of Jesus.
But to tell someone else about the love of Jesus you have to first understand what that love is.
We take so much for granted that we don’t realize that if it were not for Christ we would not even exist. So what am I saying? I’m say express the love and appreciation for Christ for everything… for breathing, we take that for granted, seeing, walking talking, just everything. When you understand that God loves you to provide for you and to take care of your NEEDS {need = something I can’t live without} then we will realize that Christ loves you.
So why should I witness? Because Christ loves the world… He loves that person that everyone else wrote off i.e. the thief, the prostitute, the homeless drunk, the murderer and the list can go on forever.
So how do we witness if it is not going to be preaching? We have to display love. We have to be the person that people want to talk to because they see the love of God in us.
Love is the most powerful tool in the universe. 1 John 4:8 God is love… that is why it ‘s the strongest force.
Let me not labour this… if you love the people around you that doesn’t know Christ… you will not be selfish and keep Him to yourself.. you will tell the world about Jesus with you actions and your words… become a participator not a spectator!!!!!!!
