Gal 3 19-29 discusses the transition from law to being a Free Son of God. We who have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ, some translations use the expression of be clothed with Christ. This passage points out that we are all equal in Christ , no male nor female, no slave no free but all sons and heir to the promise of his heavanly Kingdom that was promised to Abraham. What does it mean to put on Christ? It is to die to self and put God and others first as he did and also to speak the truth in love even when it hurts us and others. I am sure the scribes and pharisies were hurt by Jesus's frank talk to them, however some of them listened and repented and joined the other disciples and even supported the needs of his ministry. Now we must be also rooted and founded in Christ to be Christlike. I am always amazed that most Christians do not Know these very basic truths, we see them listed out by Paul in Heb 5:11-6:4 . He calls them milk and tells them that they do not even understand the milk and without this they cannot go on to maturity and grow up in God. These principles are called the basic or elementary teachings and they seem to be an avoided "mistery" to the church today because they can cause people to stumble, well this is what they are to stumble over if they are not his, He Christ is the Rock of Offense and we supposed to stop and choose our way or his! Repentance, Faith, Baptisms, the Laying on of hands, the Ressurection of the Dead, and Eternal Judgement. If we understand these and put on Christ we can now go on to maturity and God permiting we shall do so and avoid the snares of the evil one. Love John
