Working with people who are very sick, I often have folks ask me to pray for them because they are too sick to find the right words or concentrate on the prayers they normally say. I say a lot of words to God over the course of the day and find when it is my turn to sit in the chapel and refresh, I love nothing more than to sit with Jesus in silence.

I sit, eyes closed and relaxed, and picture Him on the pew / seat next to me. I even feel like I can lean on His shoulder a little. If my mind wanders off, like a little child, I know that He enjoys my return and understands how things just catch my attention.

Whether you picture Jesus, feel the Shekinah glory over you, or sense the presence of God's throne, a good 15 minutes will feel like ages off your shoulders. God doesn't need your words when you don't have them, but He still wants you to show up.
