Good Monday Morning Saints
I hope you had the unspeakable JOY and privilege of assembling with the congregation of Saints to start the new week. I have been having a spiritual ball adding to my public archive at Scribd.com. I had seen reference to the sight in passing, but you know how these things go right past your screen until the Lord makes it personal. Well it became personal when my son David was sent to Iraq this month.
His family gave him a love gift as he was leaving for his new assignment with the U.S.Navy. My son is quite the reader of some of the best books known to the historic Church. In fact he has added more than one to my own collection. To make a short story of this, the gift the family gave him was a
Kindle2-the e-book reader Amazon came up with to corner the market. Amazon developed the platform called I-paper for Kindle and this in turn fuels the Scribd sight which is a public sight you can join and upload your favorite documents. Something like this I see as made just for believers like me who have collected over a life-time a treasure of those classic writings which together with the Bible has largely fueled my own walk in the Spirit of Christ. So I was more than prepared to help my son load up his Kindle2 which he has with him for grabbing a few moments here and there in his 12 hour days- six days a week on duty in Camp Bucca, near the Kuwait border.
My most recent uploads to my archive are J.C. Ryle's "Holiness" (first 5 of 20 chapters) and another of Paul Minears studies with key texts. Because this one deals with meeting Christ in His congregation, I thought it would be just the thing to share with you today. Paul was a master at seeing the "vision" the authors themselves were contemplating when writing their contributions to Holy Scripture. This time he is dealing with a strategic vision in the letter to the Hebrews. Enjoy the vision and the joy of being in the household of the Son of Man.
(p.s. Don't forget to look with "the eyes of faith")
