My name is Dana Cashwell and I along with my husband Travis, my three kids, Cameron 6 (she's a girl), Madeline 4 and Thomas 3 we left the church 2 years ago to BE the Church. The problem was we didn't know how to do it. Travis and I grew up in church so when we explained to our family, friends and church what God wanted us to do, the majority of them considered us apostates and heretics. Don't get me wrong, they loved us in their way, they just didn't support us.
A year ago, along with some of the friends we had left, started something called So What! Ministries (shameless plug: www.sowhatministries.com). Which was all about getting people off their butt and serving their community/church/family. Then we read Pagan Christianity. Mainly because George Barna was listed as an author. After reading it, we devoured everything that Frank Viola has written because he put on paper what we were going through and what to do about it. We're in the process now of revamping and updating everything.
I felt like I was wandering in the wilderness for 2 years searching for the promised land; thank God I finally found it!
gary goodell, one of the author s of the book Permission Granted was here the other day.last summer Mr.quick from New zealand was here sharing what really a Church is.
I've learned that christianity is a lifestyle.the Bible is my source of life.my body is God's temple.no longer the church building.following Jesus is no longer a performance basis..but being THE UNIQUE YOU whom He loves.

God bless u.
Thank you very much for writing. Ruben Samson invited me to this site maybe about the same time that you joined. I'm here in Las Piñas City but I "go home" to Baliuag, Bulacan every weekend. You may have noticed that I am inviting SimpleChurch members to read my millennium article (I presume you have seen it; if not url is www.bibleone.net/TheMillennium.htm). Hindi ako makarami. Dial-up connection lang ang gamit ko, mabagal. Natutuwa nga ako at nalaman ko ito mula kay Ruben.
Matagaltagal nang hindi ako napapasyal sa Baguio. Are you native there? Tungkol sa church attendance, Last May I quit the church I was attending in Makati. 5 months lang ako doon. I feel I could not be edified there because the group -- former SDA's-- was so prejudiced against the Word of the Kingdom; the members' couldn't accept new teachings (new to their ears) and I may have been thought of as pushing to them some wrong doctrines. I was asked to speak. I wrote down my message; the article was the result. But it was as though I spoke to the wind --they didn't get it. Alam mo, this subject -- the Word of the Kingdom (Matt. 13, etc., etc.) is something the Church as a whole has forgotten because the enemy has been very successful in blocking this particular message from being understood by the Christians (Parables of the sower, tares, leaven, and mustard seed). Just as Satan used the religious leaders in Israel the scribes and Pharisees in rejecting the message and the Messenger, so he is using religious leaders to reject the same message.
Kung makakadaan ka sa Bulacan on your way to Manila, just tell me kung sasaglit ka sa amin. I have another article at www.rapturealert.com/doesbibleteachpretrib.html. This 2005 article needs revising. But no harm reading it. I hope you'll see it when you have the time. Again, thanks!
Brother in in Christ,
good day bro...
Baguio is a long way from where i am... youre up north, im way down south, Valencia is in Bukidnon, Mindanao...
This Simple Church Movement is so exciting!
Looking forward to sharing Christ with you bro...
Hi Eric, Thanks for the invite..altho I am quite new at this...I will try to figure it all out and connect...Its really awesome to talk to Gods people all over the world!! and hear what he is doing! I recently visited a vineyard church that had a pastor from the Philippines..had a real heart for the poor... simple message..BIG heart!
Where are you at? Baguio? I am in Cebu. Of course call me up if you drop by here and let's meet up with some house church guys for a coffee or a meal and let's see what God will do.
We do meetings most of the time 'spontaneously' rather than scheduled. So this is full of surprises then rather than being planned. It's a lifestyle house church as we call it, means anytime you eat your breakfast, lunch and dinner make sure you have someone to talk with. And talk about God and each others lives. Make friends as many as you can until you win their hearts. And when you see that they began to respect you, believe in you, faithful and even loyal to you -then its easier to make them a disciple of Jesus Christ.
I am in the process now of putting this on writing. It is intentional discipleship. Remember that one cannot be a disciple without a disciple. And in this simple, rapid multiplication of discipleship making, discipleship then is for everyone and not just for the elites.
We can talk this more easily if you reply to me on my email account: firstname.lastname@example.org
Yeah sure no problem, we would love to have you. I enjoyed our very short fellowship up in Baguio. We have a group that meets and we transfer from house 2 house. Last time we had it at Ruben's place. Text us when you plan to come down to Manila. God Bless bro.
Eric.. good questions... We have been out of I.C. for about 10 years. I grew up as a pastors kid and my dad made transition 10 years ago. We have done every version of simple/house church you can think of, yet every time it is Holy Spirit lead. We go and do what we think He is asking us to do.
We are business people now. We own a 2 companies and have countless opportunity to share the Kingdom of God and it's principles to the lost and dying world. It rocks people's world to have a successful business person like my husband act in integrity, with honesty and loyalty. We are certainly salt scattered along the earth, bringing Kingdom flavor.
Right now we are working with Bear Creek Ranch and hosting Deliverance Retreats. We model the house church principles and help others make a smooth and, most of the time, anger free transition.
You can get Tim Mather's e-book called Escaping Church at www.timmather.com. It helps bring light to the transition and might be useful for you!
Second, any "tips" on how you're led by the Holy Spirit? Good question, I think the most important "tip" is to be flexible and be open for any and all opportunities to be used. And of course practice listening to God. You will be amazed at how often you will be going through your day and the Holy Spirit will use you to reach out and BE the church to those around you.
internet marketing .... what are your sites, I'd like to take a look at what you are doing.
Have you listened to Wolf Simson's talk on money and work at the Parousia Conference? NO, sounds great. Where can I find it?
Hi Brother Eric! I thank The Lord for bringing you into my life and guiding me into my Spiritual Fulfillment. You are indeed one of God's Chosen to renew peoples lives and bring them back to the 'Presence of God'. Thanks again and may you and your family be Blessed Always!!!
South Point, Ohio, appears to be in the Southeast part of the state. I am in the Southwest part of the state. My sister, who lives in Northwest Ohio, has a friend who is out of institutional church that, I believe, moved to the Southeast part of the state a year or two ago. I will contact my sister and find out more information and get back with you!
